In an interview with Odehyieba Kofi Essuman, host of Accra 100.5 FM’s Ghana Yensom Morning show on Monday, December 19, 2022, the former MCE and a prominent party member in the Ashanti Region, attributed the aforementioned causes for the National Chairman’s defeat.
Delegates made it apparent at the grounds that the party required a new orientation going into the general elections of 2024, he claimed.
Many of the delegates, according to him, believed that the NDC had won the most recent elections but that the party had lost because of the incompetence of some of its officers.
He claimed that “some of these officers did not live up to the expectations of delegates.”
