Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has formally introduced his campaign team, which is made up of members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from a variety of backgrounds. The 41-person team is made up of politicians, former leaders, and current members of parliament who are all in favor of the vice president's plan to become the NPP's flagbearer and run for president. Leading this campaign team are former president John Agyekum Kufuor and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who were both named to the campaign advisory council. Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Central Region's Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, has been named the Coastal Zone Coordinator. Middle Belt Zone Coordinator Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye, the Member of Parliament for the Ashanti Region's Effiduase/Asokore Constituency, will assume the position.
