The most crucial characteristics, in Adongo’s opinion, that the leader of the EMT must possess are (a) credibility and (b) a consensual approach supported by balanced thinking, both of which Bawumia, in Adongo’s opinion, lacks. Credibility is important because stakeholders must trust your utterances and believe in your good intentions.
He did, however, emphasize that EMT leaders need to be willing to accept failure when it happens, as well as when to reevaluate their plans and goals.
He noted that in recent years, leaders of national economic management teams in countries like the UK and the USA have admitted failures, accepted responsibility, and charted new directions based on scientific data.
