Hon. Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng, alias Alan Cash, a former trade minister and candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s presidency, has withdrawn from the contest.
The candidate recently declared in a statement that he is no longer interested in running for president because he believes that the results of the recently convened Special Delegate Congress were biased in favor of one candidate.
He claimed that statements made by some of the party’s top figures made it plain to him that a favorite had already been selected and that there was nothing he could do to change it.
Before he stood back to support Nana Akuffo Addo, the president of Ghana at the time, Alan Cash, as he was affectionately known, was in a good position to be the party’s presidential candidate.
Many people are not surprised by his intentions to withdraw because Dr. Bawumia, who is the vice president and a candidate, seems to have the upper hand.
