He claimed to have always fashioned his play after the former Black Stars attacker.

In an interview with Ghanaweb, the Premiership striker said, “I used to follow him when he came to AFCON events and the World Cup. He was a significant figure, and I want to be just like him.

In Chris Hughton’s first game in command of the national side, he came off the bench to score the game-winning goal against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, making him Ghana’s hero in the recent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The 23-year-old player, who joined Bournemouth in the English Premier League in the January transfer window, has played for coach Gary O’Neil in eight games but has not yet made a goal.
