The budget statement and economic policy of the government’s mid-year fiscal policy review, which will be delivered by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on Monday, July 31, 2023, has been referred to as a “funeral dirge” by Isaac Adongo, the deputy ranking member on the finance committee of parliament.
He claimed that because the budget was a dirge, the lawmakers who were yelling “Yeah Yeah” were dozing off.
The funeral dirge was played for us all to hear. I eventually had to ask them to get out of bed and pay attention to the man.
“So, they were sleeping when they finally stood up and said, “Yeah Yeah. I was therefore shocked when they abruptly awoke and began shouting even though they hadn’t heard the man speak, Adongo stated.
After facing tremendous economic difficulties in 2022, Ken Ofori-Atta, who delivered the budget presentation, stated that Ghana is currently making modest progress in reviving its economy.
