Kennedy Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate for flagbearer, has lamented the treachery some of his friends have subjected him to since he announced his candidacy.
He said that some of the party’s closest members had betrayed him by refusing to stand behind him and insulting him.
On October 5, 2023, he claimed in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM that the aforementioned MPs had abandoned him as he ran for the NPP flagbearer position.
He bemoaned that he would not have known his adversaries, these MPs, or the assistance he had provided them if he had not run for office.
He singled out one MP, Alfred Obeng-Boateng, who sits in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency for the Western North Region. He says he had already campaigned and backed him personally.
