POLICEMEN THAT provided security during a 3-day 2024 Senior High School (SHS) Girls Soccer Final at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, reportedly suffered the ordeal of being stoned by students.

According to a police report, there was a fierce fight between students of the Armed Forces SHS and Islamic SHS during the games, which called for a swift police intervention to help restore law and order at the stadium.

As the policemen risked their lives to separate the feuding parties at 8am on June 11, 2024, the charged students, strangely, decided to pelt the security officers with stones, causing head injuries to one policeman in the process.

The injured policeman, who has since been identified as G/Const. Boakye Bismark of SWAT Unit Ashanti Region, was quickly rushed to the hospital to treat his head injuries and was discharged the same day.
