Gay, lesbian, bis3xual, transgender, pans3xual, nonbinary, and queer activist Maxine Angel Opoku has sworn to identify lawmakers who support these issues.
Her comments follow Speaker of the House Alban Bagbin’s assurance that the House will see to it that the Ghanaian Family Values Bill and the Promotion of Proper Human S3xual Rights Bill (LGBTQI+ bill) be passed before the House adjourns.
In reaction to the proposed legislation, transgender person Maxine Angel took to social media with documents that, according to her, contain conversations and damaging information about certain officials in the nation who are LGBTQ+ practitioners.
“Pass the bill, and I’ll show you your LGBTQ MPs,” she declared. Is it possible that I haven’t seen any homosexual politicians? Every MP who has been contacting people via SMS in an attempt to lure them into sleeping with boys. Every politician who’s been pleading with pimps to set them up with boys. Here are all of your talks and chats (points to a stack of documents). If you approve the measure, I will reveal the homosexuality of your children and relatives. Additionally, none of those gay celebrities are able to speak for themselves.”
However, she criticized minority MPs like Alban Bagbin and Sam Nartey George of Ningo Prampram for pushing the anti-gay measure.
