He claims that during the height of the dispute, pastors, government figures, and traditional leaders tried to step in, but the people of Nogokpo refused to back down. But their traditional leaders trailed behind to accept “envelopes” that ultimately led to their concession.
He related how the paramount chief of the region later called the chief of Nogokpo, who had led the traditional chiefs in holding a news conference and giving Agyinasare a two-week deadline to appear before them, and fined him.
