The man who represented the Nogokpo Traditional leaders in the contentious conflict with Archbishop Agyinasare, Nufialagah Mawufemor Kobla Nornyigbey, has stated that the chiefs accepted bribes from the National Peace Council to put the issue to rest. He also stated that he was offered $100,000 but turned it down.
He made these and other serious accusations in an interview that aired on Gerom TV’s Mama Grace show.
“Due to what I witnessed, I had to go live on Facebook to distance myself from the situation because I want to avoid being accused of accepting bribes by those who look up to me.”
“Yes, people did phone me to make proposals during the issue, and I had already been accused of accepting bribes. I turned down a $100,000 payment to end the matter out of consideration for the people involved. Nornyigbey said bluntly, “People have taken it and I have them to their conscience.
