While the mother was asleep, the defendant in Walewale snatched the aforementioned baby.

When the baby’s father got home, he realized the child was missing from the house and called the police to report the incident.

It is reported that after arriving home late from watching a football game, he discovered his wife was sleeping and the baby was missing.

The traumatized couple called the police right away to report the missing infant case.

Acting quickly, the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) found the 13-month-old child and detained Abdulai Zalia, the accused abductor, on the same day of the incident.

On April 18, 2024, the prisoner was taken into custody while authorities searched for the missing infant.
