He asserts that the whole Majority Caucus now supports the group’s stance, despite the fact that the issue was originally raised by over 90 NPP MPs who organised a news conference to demand the resignation of the troubled minister or else they would boycott any government activity in the House.

The Suame MP said, “Even if the issue started with the group of 80+ MPs, the caucus meeting aligned with that group’s position, therefore it is no longer the cause of the 80+ MPs,” during a news conference on Thursday, November 3, 2022. We are now conducting discussions about the full caucus’ agenda.

The Majority Leader, who is also the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, had previously claimed on Accra’s Joy FM that a wealthy businessman had tried to persuade the MPs who had planned the news conference to change their minds.
