Posters of Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor have popped up, suggesting that he will stand for the General Secretary position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming national executive elections.
Dr Otokunor is currently the deputy to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who has served as the party’s General Secretary for almost a decade.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that he could be going for the National Chairman position despite Samuel Ofosu Ampofo seeking re-election.
In the last national executive elections, Mr Asiedu Nketia defeated suspended Samuel Koku Anyidoho, who was also his deputy.
Aside Dr Otokunor, the party’s Director of Elections, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, has also announced his intentions to be General Secretary.
