Muhammad informed the court that she would not mind withdrawing the petition to force Yahaya to care for his daughter if he was willing to take custody of her after he stated he lacked the funds to pay for her maintenance.
“Our daughter can stay with his parents since he has them. In the event that he removes our daughter, I will withdraw my maintenance claim,” she declared.
She bemoaned the fact that the Yahaya had not supported the young girl since her birth and that she was now carrying the entire weight by herself.
After hearing from Ibrahim Rufai, the respondent, and the petitioner, the judge gave Muhammad instructions to submit a new custody request and bring her daughter to court for the upcoming hearing.
