John Mahama’s first statement following his winning 2024 ticket was, “I’m humbled.”

Dr. Duffuor, a former finance minister in the John Evans Atta Mills-led NDC administration, had requested an interlocutory injunction before the poll to prevent the party from holding the vote.

Dr. Duffuor’s attorneys notified the court at the hearing of his application in the Accra High Court that they had been directed by their client to withdraw the application just 24 hours before the election.

Dr. Duffuor later announced his retirement from the flagbearership competition at a news conference on Friday.
