Condemning President Dramani Mahama’s defence of Palestinian against Israel at the UN General Assembly Session.
CONDEMNING FALSE ALLIANCES AND DEFENDING TRUTH
It is with deep grief and righteous indignation that we condemn the public postures of President John Dramani Mahama, South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa, and every international voice that lends support to antisemitic propaganda against the State of Israel.
President Mahama’s defence of Gaza against Israel is not a defence of truth, justice, or international law — it is a betrayal of Ghana’s prophetic destiny, an act of political sycophancy, and a quest for applause from the morally compromised.
He has ignored the will of the majority of Ghanaians who do not share his reckless position (sending aids and lamenting for Palestinians without emphasising on Israei hostages’ rescue). This is a public display of dishonesty. His decision is not national but personal — a pursuit of political correctness at the cost of spiritual and national blessing.
Ghana’s president has been ungrateful to Israel — a nation whose partnership has enriched our agriculture, education, health, security, and diplomacy. To turn against Israel at such a crucial time is to spit upon the hand that has blessed us. It is ingratitude at its worst and political opportunism at its most dangerous.
South Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, likewise stands condemned. By siding with Hamas terrorists at international platforms, he has chosen infamy over truth and prejudice over justice. This is not statesmanship but complicity with terrorism.
Let the world be reminded: antisemitism is not only prejudiced against Jews — it is rebellion against the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
ISRAEL: A DIVINE BLESSING TO THE NATIONS
From Scripture to science, from prophets to inventors, from the Apostles to modern technologist, Israel has been a blessing to the entire world. The Bible, the encyclopedia, the very foundation of moral law and civilisation — all bear Israel’s imprint.
To oppose Israel is to oppose the fountain of divine wisdom that has shaped human progress. Nations that curse Israel do not prosper. They invite judgment — economic collapse, political disgrace, disasters, unpopularity, and eventual humiliation at the ballot box.
President Mahama and his government have, by their posture, set Ghana on a dangerous path of divine disapproval. History confirms this pattern: those who bless Israel are blessed; those who curse her fall.
SCRIPTURAL WITNESS
The Word of God is not ambiguous:
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12)
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse.” (Genesis 12:3)
This law of covenant is immutable. Pharaoh, Haman, Titus, and Hitler all learned it to their ruin. Cyrus of Persia, Britain during Israel’s rebirth, and nations that defend Israel even today reap blessings in return.
GHANA’S HISTORICAL LESSONS
Our national history bears painful testimony:
Nkrumah (1957–66): Shift toward anti-Israel bloc → economic downturn, coup.
Rawlings (1979–2000): Hostile to Israel Embassy in Ghana; famine, bushfires, currency collapse, schools closure, etc.
Kufuor (2001–2008): Friendly ties with Israel: economic growth, debt relief, social interventions programs, int. good standing, etc.
Mahama (2012–2016): Hostile posture → economic crisis, corruption rumours, “dumsor,” electoral humilition defeat.
Nana Addo (2017–2024): Anti-Israel UN votes → currency collapse, corruption rumours, IMF bailout, and electoral humiliation defeat.
The pattern is prophetic: when Ghana aligns with Israel, we prosper. When we turn against her, we decline.
THE INTERNATIONAL LAW REALITY
Israel’s actions are not aggression — they are self-defence and hostage rescue under international law.
UN Charter, Article 51: The inherent right of self-defence.
Fourth Geneva Convention, Article 34: Hostage-taking is prohibited.
Hostages Convention (1979): Obligation to prosecute terrorists, not protect them.
To equate Israel’s defence with Hamas terrorism is dishonest, unjust, and lawless. Leaders who do so stand guilty of distorting justice before the nations.
A WARNING TO GHANA’S LEADERSHIP
President Mahama, hear this warning:
Your alignment with antisemitism and your betrayal of Israel will not attract divine favour but divine disapproval. Your government, if it persists, will reap:
Economic collapse.
Disasters and tragedies.
Political unpopularity.
Electoral humiliation.
A legacy of shame.
For Ghana to walk this road is to invite judgment. For Ghana to bless Israel is to enter blessing.
EXECUTIVE CONCLUSION
The choice is clear:
Stand with Israel — and stand under the blessing of God.
Stand against Israel — and fall under the curse of history and prophecy.
Ghana’s destiny is tied to Israel’s. To oppose her is to oppose God. To bless her is to secure our future.
