Dr Abbey revealed that the previous administration had signed a contract worth $48 million to import the same items that had not been cleared for the 2025/2026 cocoa season. An escrow account at the Ghana International Bank in London was used to secure the funds.

Abandoned Shipments

During his tour, Dr Abbey discovered a large quantity of imported cocopeat abandoned at the Sefwi Boako cocoa station. He questioned the managers about the unnecessary importation, expressing frustration at the apparent lack of planning and oversight.
