EC approval is not required for us to employ drones in the 2024 elections (NDC).

The Electoral Commission (EC) has been informed by Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), that his party’s use of drones for election surveillance in 2024 is both necessary and within democratic norms for preserving electoral integrity.

He reaffirmed that the NDC will follow all legal requirements in order to use drones during the elections on December 7, 2024, but he made it clear that they wouldn’t be used at voting places in order to maintain ballot confidentiality.

As Ashie Moore put it, the main goals are to protect the party’s two million+ votes and strengthen oversight procedures to avert possible anomalies.

The NDC views this program as essential to influencing the outcome of the election, with the audacious goal of garnering more than two million votes.

According to Ashie Moore, extensive preparations have already been made, including educating the staff members who will be using the drones.
