Nima Momeni, a 38-year-old resident of Emeryville, California, is the suspect. According to investigators, Mr. Momeni and Mr. Lee were acquainted.

Mr. Momeni is a technology consultant and start-up owner, says his LinkedIn page.

On April 4, police discovered Mr. Lee, 43, who had been stabbed and was unconscious.

He succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

Chief of the San Francisco Police Department William Scott made the announcement of Mr. Momeni’s arrest during a news conference on Thursday.

Mr. Momeni has been charged with murder, according to Mr. Scott, and is currently being held at the San Francisco County Jail.

He didn’t go into detail about how Mr. Lee and the suspect were acquainted.

Criminal records show that Mr. Momeni was arrested for drunk driving in 2004 and charged with a misdemeanor in 2011 for carrying a switchblade, but the case was dropped after he accepted a plea agreement.

According to Mr. Momeni’s LinkedIn profile, he owns a business called Expand IT, Inc.

Sam Singer, a neighbor, told CBS News Bay Area that other than hearing Mr. Momeni play music too loudly, he never had a bad interaction with him.
