When I win, I’ll give a bus to every Bawumia Premier League team in Ghana.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has revealed that if he wins the general elections in 2024, he will give a bus to every Premier League team in Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia unveiled a number of all-encompassing and long-lasting sports development initiatives during the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto launch, describing it as providing audacious answers.

In order to help these teams with their transportation needs, Dr. Bawumia promised that his administration will “provide a bus each to Premier League clubs”.

Dr. Bawumia disclosed that his government intends to use tax incentives, like as a flat tax, to incentivise private sector investments in sports in order to further boost corporate engagement in the industry.

They include financial assistance programs, educational initiatives, tax breaks, and direct assistance to football teams.

Dr. Bawumia made a pledge when he was elected president to “support the revival of the Premier League, and clubs, to improve commercial viability, and to create related jobs.”

Giving more information, Dr. Bawumia clarified that his government would support the Premier League and its clubs directly by “directing policy through the National Lotteries Authority and the Gaming Commission to establish and fund a Sports Employment Module to assist Premier League clubs in funding operational expenses, including player remuneration.”

In his manifesto, Dr. Bawumia, the vice president, also pledged to construct an airport in Ghana’s Upper East Region.

It is anticipated that this large-scale project will be crucial in changing the Upper East Region’s economic climate and increasing accessibility for both domestic and foreign tourists.

According to him, the government would build the nation’s rail network in accordance with the Master Plan through partnerships with investors in the private sector, with a medium-term strategic concentration on the Western and Eastern Lines.
