Speaking to Happy Kaseɛbɔ, Deputy Communications Officer for GPRTU, Mr Samuel Amoah has clarified that, contrary to speculation, no decision has been made to increase transport fares, despite the recent significant rise in fuel prices. The union has emphasized that there has been no such agreement or resolution to hike transport fares, and any claims suggesting otherwise are unfounded.
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has reiterated its commitment to transparency, stating that any changes to transport fares will be publicly communicated in advance, allowing passengers sufficient notice and preparation. Additionally, the GPRTU has instructed all commercial transport operators to adhere to the current fare structure, with no unauthorized increases permitted.
