Kwesi Pratt Jr, a seasoned journalist and political analyst, created a stir on social media with an intriguing post about recent events at the presidency.

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Mr. Pratt made a suggestion that something noteworthy and out of the ordinary might be happening in the government in a post that was posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
“Something very interesting is happening in the Presidency and observers are watching with very keen eyes and listening with anxious ears,” he wrote in his post. His remarks have generated a lot of debate, particularly since they coincide with audacious remarks made by influential government figures regarding Ghana’s future leadership.
Kwesi Pratt cited comments made by Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, who recently said that he believes Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s current vice president, has the potential to become the country’s president.
According to reports, Haruna Iddrisu, who was named as a top candidate to succeed President John Dramani Mahama in a Global Info Analytics poll, reiterated his assessment of the vice president’s capacity to lead the nation.
Ghana may soon have a female president, according to President Mahama himself. President Mahama said Ghana has made historic strides by electing its first female vice president and placing women in high positions in the government, judiciary, and security agencies during the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Beijing, China.
Mahama declared, “These are not symbolic gestures.” They reaffirm that women should have a voice in the highest decision-making levels. I have no doubt that our women will shatter the glass ceiling and that the Republic of Ghana will have a female president very soon.
“Well, something is definitely happening, at least at the Presidency and in the Government machine, and we can see and feel it,” Kwesi Pratt wrote as he concluded his post.
Since then, his post has received a tonne of attention online, with many people speculating that Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang might be getting ready to become Ghana’s first female president.
