
Nkrumah also described how his children and wife, Fathia Nkrumah, were ejected from their home and took sanctuary at the Egyptian Embassy.
“Troopers were permitted to run amok in the six-room, two-story home where my family and I resided, taking precious antique books and manuscripts along with clothing and other private belongings.
“My wife and children were turned out of the house and forced to take refuge in the Egyptian Embassy, and even though they were not physically harmed, they were not allowed to take anything with them,” he claimed.
