Akufo-Addo: “Bawumia has never lied to me.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his faith in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying he has never betrayed him during their political journey together.

During his speech in Kumasi, the president urged the people to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia rather than John Dramani Mahama, a failed president who is attempting a return.

According to President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia is ready and deserves a chance since his leadership has the potential to significantly improve Ghana.

Since we started working together, Bawumia has never lied to me. Ghanaians need to trust him as much as I do. He will deliver, and I know him. He called on the electorate to support him, saying, “Bawumia is an honest man who can continue my good works; no other person can do that because it’s not in their DNA to do that.”

The President has already expressed his belief that the NPP flagbearer will effectively lead the nation’s affairs if elected.

As you may remember, President Akufo-Addo, who has served with Bawumia for almost 20 years in a variety of roles, including vice president, praised his dedication in October of this year when visiting Wa in the Upper West Region.

The president said he has never questioned his vice president’s commitment to serve the country and underlined his faith in Bawumia’s loyalty and skills.

He pointed out that Bawumia is the best person to carry out the NPP’s developmental program because of his background and performance history.

In the general elections of 2024, President Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to support Bawumia, calling him a leader who exemplifies devotion, dedication, and a clear vision for the future of the nation.

“I have worked with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for about 20 years, and during that time, I have never had the slightest question about his devotion to our shared objective. And I’m here to seek for your help in getting Bawumia to break the eight.”

“I see that the former president is making a lot of statements around the number eight that he selected. because it indicates he will prevail. “Having the number 8 and breaking the 8 is definitely not a good sign,” he stated.
