Abigail Ashley Wins Prizes at the GABCAA

Popular female radio and television personality Abigail Ashley, who works for Okay FM and United Television (UTV), was recognized with two honors at the recently concluded Golden Age Business and Creative Arts Awards (GABCAA) 2024. She was named the winner of the Radio Personality and Health Media Personality of the Year awards at the event on Wednesday, May 1, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. Numerous celebrities graced the occasion; some of them were also recognized alongside Abigail Ashley. One of Ghana's biggest award programs, GABCAA, recognizes individual workers or creatives who have excelled in their respective fields. Haillie Sumney won Actress of the Year, Kafui Danku received Tourism Personality of the Year, and Abena Kyei Boakye, the morning show host of Kantanka TV, earned TV Personality of the Year. In addition to winning Woman of the Year, Tung Teiya Dahamani, the 2022 winner of Ghana's Most Beautiful, was also named Woman of Excellence in Creative Art, together with Sharon Dede Padi. Abigail Ashley, the host of My Health, My Life, and Mo Ho Y3 on UTV and Okay FM, has been recognized with numerous national and international awards. In addition, she is a health champion and the creator and project manager of the non-governmental organization Behind My Smiles Foundation, which focuses on kidney health education. "I am grateful to the organizers for this recognition," the radio and television personality said in a statement following her prize acceptance. I give thanks to the All-Powerful God for providing me with strength, and I express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me along the journey in various ways. She expressed her gratitude to the Despite and Special Group of Companies, specifically to Drs. Fadda Dickson, Ofori Sarpong, and Osei Kwame (Despite), for their support of her endeavors. In 2017, she was listed as one of Ghana's 50 most influential people by Advanced Media. The Health Legends Award was given to Mo Ho Y3 host Abigail in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She was also recognized in 2020 when she received the Social Media Health Advocate of the Year Award for her efforts to promote healthy living and healthcare on social media, among other things.
