Every stride taken along these perilous pathways serves as a metaphor for the human spirit’s ability to persevere, triumph, and accomplish amazing things.

In an interview with TV3 newscasters, Mr. Smith allegedly stated:

Over the previous 27 years, I have walked from Elubo to Shama, Aflao, and other places. Starting on a Thursday, the walk to Accra from Takoradi took place till Sunday. We didn’t stop at Winneba until Friday, and we continued on Saturday. I don’t normally sleep while I’m by myself.

On this adventure that puts a 54-year-old’s physical stamina to the test, he wasn’t alone.

Two trainees, Millicent Assane and Lawrence Manful, promised to stick with him through all the highs and lows while they traveled to their goals, so he wasn’t alone.

Via his Hiking Smith Foundation, he provided them with training.

It was my initial experience. Being a mother of three, I had caesarean sections (CS) for each of my children. It means a lot to me that God has given me the stamina to walk from Takoradi to Accra, Millicent Assane remarked.
