This refusal comes weeks after President John Dramani Mahama appointed Agyenim-Boateng to replace Duah-Yentumi, who was appointed by the previous NPP administration¹.

Duah-Yentumi’s refusal to hand over has been marked by dramatic gestures, including locking up the MD’s office and taking the keys with her. This has prevented Agyenim-Boateng from assuming his new role and has caused shock among the company’s staff².

The situation is all the more unusual given that Duah-Yentumi was herself appointed by a previous administration, and it is customary for outgoing CEOs to facilitate a smooth transition. Instead, Duah-Yentumi has failed to present handing-over notes, further delaying the transition process³.

Staff members have expressed their dismay at Duah-Yentumi’s actions, describing them as “a shame.” One anonymous staff member noted that the delay in the handover is having a negative impact on the company’s operations and urged Duah-Yentumi to hand over to Agyenim-Boateng immediately¹.
