He claimed that Nigeria’s energy independence and security depended on the Dangote Refinery, owned by the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote, which is located in Lagos.

“It will support energy security and independence for our country and serve as a catalyst for a new era of prosperity for the subcontinent by fulfilling our requirements for all refined petroleum products. For Nigerians now and in future generations, it promises economic transformation,” Otedola said.

The refinery, which is allegedly the biggest in Africa, has started to operate and can process 350,000 barrels of crude oil daily.

The Dangote Refinery recently celebrated a significant milestone when it received its first one million barrels of Agbami crude grade, indicating the start of the refinery’s operations. This delivery fits into a bigger plan to supply the facility with six million barrels from multiple sources.

Femi Otedola praised the refinery’s visionary leadership while congratulating his “bestie,” Aliko Dangote.

In her description of Dangote as a “visionary patriot,” Otedola emphasized the refinery’s diverse importance.
