Kobina Ackon, also known as Wode Maya, was given that name at birth. He is undoubtedly the most popular YouTuber from Ghana and a professional aeronautical engineer.

He is best recognized for his videos that promote travel. Wode Maya, who was born and raised in the community of Kofikrom in western Ghana, had the chance to study abroad in China, where he came up with the moniker “Wode Maya,” which is Chinese for “my mother.”

On November 8, 1990, the well-known YouTuber was born.

After completing his secondary schooling in 2012, Wode Maya will depart the country of Ghana in order to continue his studies in China.
He got accepted to study aeronautical engineering at Shenyang Aerospace University.

He described his worst experience with anti-Black prejudice as “when he set out looking for a job and was denied just because he was Black” in an interview with face2faceafrica.

He started a YouTube channel to describe his experiences as a Black man living in China after receiving discriminatory remarks and occurrences in public buses and trains.

Wode Maya first traveled to roughly five African nations, sharing his travel experiences and each country’s culture, after leaving China with a loan from friends to pursue his ambitions.

According to his website, his YouTube channel, which once served as a link between Africa and Asia, has evolved into the African diaspora’s welcome wagon.
