Richmond Lamptey, a highly regarded midfielder for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has addressed calls for his inclusion in the Black Stars lineup for the African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The former Inter Allies player described the campaign to be included in the squad for the AFCON tournament as humble.
Speaking to the media in Kotoko, he expressed his opinion that he won’t be complacent in the face of demands for his participation in the national squad.
“There have been requests for me to be called up to the Black Stars. However, as a professional player, these things shouldn’t go into your head; instead, they should motivate you to put in more effort and perform at your highest level. He remarked, “I won’t be delusional; I’ll just keep working hard.”
Many have taken notice of Lamptey’s performance in Asante Kotoko’s most recent 3-2 triumph over Hearts of Oak and are urging his inclusion in the AFCON roster.
