Acceptability of Dr K. K. Sarpong by Offinso Citizens and Residents
More than 90% of the people who live in and around Offinso are in favor of Dr. Sarpong’s appointment. It is well known that the Offinso people saw him as their Omanhene, believing he will lead them to greater prosperity in terms of modernity, education, employment, and investments.

We have noted the petitions submitted by certain individuals claiming to be Ashyirem Royals contesting Dr. K. K. Sarpong’s eligibility. Among other things, the petitions were based on the following two arguments: (i) that Dr. Sarpong was not a royal of the Offinso Wiafe Stool; and (ii) that Nana Gyan Frempong had cursed Dr. Sarpong’s bloodline.

A committee consisting of five (5) members was appointed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The committee was chaired by Barima Tweneboa Kodua II, the Omanhene of Kumawu, and included the Omanhene of Yamfo.Omanhene of Ofuman; Kaase hene and Atwima hene, mostly to ascertain Dr. K. K. Sarpong’s lineage. He closed by cautioning the Committee members not to be swayed by any financial temptation.
