Africa's top ten cities for highest standard of living

The practicalities of everyday living for foreign workers and their family in assignment sites across the globe are evaluated by Mercer’s Quality of Living data. For the majority of significant cities worldwide, the research offers insightful information and recommendations for hardship premiums.

Africa’s safest and highest-standard city is thought to be Port Louis, Mauritius.
Seychelles’ capital, Victoria, is rated second in Africa.
Other African towns with reasonably good living standards are Tunis in Tunisia, Rabat and Casablanca in Morocco.

The research states that Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles, is ranked 98th in the rating and has the finest living conditions and safety in all of Africa. Port Louis, which is situated in Mauritius, is ranked first.

Several South African cities are included in the ranking, including Durban (110th), Johannesburg (105th), and Cape Town (102nd). A few more noteworthy African towns with a respectable standard of living are Casablanca, Morocco (136th), Tunis, Tunisia (131st), and Rabat, Morocco (127th).

A number of African cities rank 236th, 239th, and 241st, respectively, and have lower standards of living: N’Djamena (Chad), Bangui (Central African Republic), and Khartoum (Sudan).
