According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, the program “supports the government’s goal of leveraging technological advancements to prepare Ghanaian students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” also known as the digital age,” and “aligns with the government’s efforts to enhance e-learning and digitalization.”

“The initiative aims to bolster senior high school education by providing teaching and learning management systems, digital learning content, and educational devices to all senior high and TVET schools nationwide.”

Since secondary education has been free since 2017, the government’s dedication to secondary education is further demonstrated by the reality of Vice President Dr. Mahanudu Bawumia’s announcement last year that every SHS student would receive a laptop.

The computers can be accessed offline (offline) anywhere in the nation with preloaded software, including textbooks.

With laptops, students can abandon the long-standing habit of carrying around textbooks.

The plan will see the government give pre-programmed computers to every SHS student in the county with the goal of boosting the computer literacy and technology know-how of young Ghanaian pupils.
