Ghana is turning to God in prayer over the dreaded novel Coronavirus pandemic which has so far killed two (2) persons out of the fifty-three (53) who have tested positive for the virus over the past couple of weeks.
Globally, the virus has killed nearly 19,000 people, forcing some countries including India, Italy, and Malaysia to go under total lockdown.
Malaysia will extend its two-week lockdown, according to the BBC, and is also planning another stimulus package to help its economy.
In his 3rd address to the country, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo urged all religious bodies across the country to fast and pray on March 25 to seek the face of God as government does its part to curb the spread of the virus.
“Whilst we continue to adhere to these measures and ramp up our efforts to defeat this virus, I urge all of us also to seek the face of the Almighty.
“So on Wednesday, 25th March 2020, I appeal to all Ghanaians – Christians and Muslims to observe a national day of fasting and prayer. Let us pray to God to protect our nation and save us from this pandemic,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu has declared a two-day fast for all Muslims across the country.
“The National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu wishes to draw the attention of all followers of the Islamic faith in Ghana that the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has declared Wednesday, March 25th 2020 as National day of fasting and prayer,” a statement from the spokesperson read.
“…Muslims of all sects are entreated to support the presidential call… Beyond tomorrow’s [Wednesday] special national fasting, the National Chief Imam has further urged Muslims to observe another fast on Thursday, March 26.”
Bishop Charles Agyinasare, founder and leader of Perez Dome (formerly World Miracle Church International) is believing God for a miracle! Prayer is the key!

Also present at the Breakfast Prayer Meeting was Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International Ministry. He has been praying to God to heal the land.
“Today, as we turn from our wicked ways [and] as we repent, as we humble ourselves [and] as we pray, may God hear from heaven and forgive all of our sins; the sins and the inequities of our fathers, our mothers, our great grand fathers and mothers, the sins of our bloodlines, the sins of our ancestors and the sins of our youth.
“May the bloodshed for the remission of sin be invoked and may the blood speak for all of us and the land before the throne. For without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.
“So we pray for the remission of all of our sins and the sins of the land and our fathers by the blood that was shed. The blood that ‘speaketh’ better things than the blood of Able; the blood that ‘speaketh forgiveness, redemption, pardon and not judgement [and] not revenge.
“Let that blood speak for every family of this land the families of nations, continents and communities in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

Joshua & Caleb addressed the issue from God’s perspective. Yes there were giants but they saw a God bigger & powerful than the giants. The knew that the God who defeated the Egyptians with their gods & set them free was able to deliver them from the canaanite giants.
Yes COVID-19 looks like a giant but may I announce to you that our God is bigger than the virus. Our God is able to defeat it. We can’t defeat it by our mere human strength but by the power of God.
