Dr. Bawumia, in the opinion of Prof. Hanke, has been a “unmitigated disaster” in charge of Ghana’s economy.

The US-based economist expressed his complete agreement with the viewpoint in a tweet that made reference to a GhanaWeb article where Felix Kwakye Ofosu had made a like statement.

Former Deputy Minister of Communications Kwakye Ofosu describes Ghana’s Vice President Bawumia as “absolute disaster

“I completely concur. Today, I estimate Ghana’s annual inflation rate to be a crushing 87%. The official rate is more than 2.5 TIMES that, tweeted Prof. Stave Hanke.

Professor Hanke has criticised Dr. Bawumia, who serves as the de facto leader of the Economic Management Team, harshly before (EMT).

The professor blamed the Vice President for the nation’s issues in a tweet from September 20.

He asserts that despite the Vice President’s stated intention to address the nation’s problems, he is actually doing the reverse by causing more of them.

Professor Hanke was making a comment regarding the Ghana Cedi’s decline in value relative to important trading currencies, particularly the US dollar.

“The vice president of Ghana, Bawumia, claims he entered politics to aid in problem-solving. SPOILER: Bawumia is the one who is causing the issues. I currently estimate GHA’s inflation to be shocking 81%/yr, or about 2.5 TIMES the official rate, the user wrote in a tweet.
